Setup Procedures

Installation

You will be emailed an attachment called CIAView.zip.

• Unzip the file CIAView.zip.
• Double click setup.exe.
• Accept all the defaults

  An icon will be placed on the Desktop.

As easy as that!

• The installation requires that you be connected to the Internet. The installation will download a copy of any required files. This may take some time.
• The installation procedure will also provide an Uninstall option.

Remote Access

If you require CIAView to provide access to remote Servers, the Computer names must be provided – and optionally the User Names and Passwords.

To see all configured Computers, at the Command prompt (cmd.exe) enter 'net view'. This command will list all configured computers. An easier way is to use the Menu option 'Network Servers'. You can then list all the Servers configured, and create the Computers.txt file.

Open the file Computers.txt. This will be found in the same folder as CIAView.exe. This is the file with dummy content:

Enter all the Computer Names. Update the UserName and Password columns or remove them if there is a security threat. If the UserName and Password are not supplied, you will be prompted for them when first accessing a remote server.

When CIAView has been paid for, you will be supplied with the 6 character ReleaseCode. On starting CIAView, you will be prompted for the ReleaseCode.

• You can enter all your Servers in the Computer.txt file, but if you select a Server that is not available from the Combo Box in CIAView,it can take the Windows Operating System a while to timeout.
• The first time a Server is accessed it can take a few seconds to load all the measurement counters.
